Visiting Sarah

One of my dearest friends, Sarah, recently moved to Bakersfield, California, to work with a well-known midwife, and to offer her incredible services and knowledge as a Doula, after graduating from Midwifery school in Seattle. Sarah is so knowledgeable in medicinal herbs, growing vegetables, women's health, and so many other things, I always leave so inspired after a visit with her. And how wonderful it is to have her only two hours away now.

What we need is here

Sarah planting asparagus in her back yard.

On Sarah's mirror. A poem by Wendell Berry.

An afternoon baking

A delicious recipe for lavender shortbread cookies I recently made.

Details in the community garden.

After planting some kale, snap peas, and beets this afternoon, I explored the property the garden is on.
